As an increasing proportion of our lives move online, private sector intermediaries now hold unprecedented influence over how people access information and communicate. With this power comes a growing responsibility to exert a positive influence over human rights online, and to stand up for the expressive interests of their users.

These recommendations are the result of a research collaboration between human rights experts from around the world. We call on online intermediaries to Stand Up For Rights by aligning their policies and practices with these Recommendations.

Our Recommendations for Responsible Tech are available in: English, French, Spanish, Arabic and Korean

An Executive Summary of our research is also available, in English, French, Spanish and Arabic.
